BHC Needs Your Help! If there was ever a time to give generously to help homeless women and children at the Bakersfield Homeless Center, now may be that time…
These difficult economic times have touched all of us – higher food, gas and utilities costs strain everyone’s budget. At the BHC, our food bill alone has increased by nearly $50,000 utilities bills by $30,000 and fuel by $40,000. Family homelessness is on the rise – we had a 10% increase in those needing our services last year. In 2007 the Bakersfield Homeless Center (BHC) sheltered 269 families and 548 children and provided homeless prevention services to 1,300 families with 3,000 children – people in desperate need, right here in our community. Please consider a financial donation to help the BHC continue to uplift lives and provide critical emergency and supportive services. Thank you on behalf of all the homeless families and children at the BHC for your generosity. Sincerely, -Executive Director Louis B. Gill, Jr. |
